Clay's House of Pig C.H.O.P.
Clay's House of Pig is easy to find, just like the childhood home of Elvis Presley. Tupelo is renown for their favorite son Elvis, but Tupelo is also known for having really good restaurants. Navigate to the home of the newest taste sensation in Tupelo like this: head south on Veterans Memorial Boulevard from the Main Street intersection and you will see Clay's Bait and Tackle Shop on the right. This is where barbecue lives.
Clay's House of Pig is known for serving tender and tasty BBQ Ribs, Pulled Pork, Smoked Chicken, Rib Tips, and various smoked specialty items throughout the year. Start of with BBQ Nachos and a BBQ Bologna Sammich, then put together a Rib Plate with Baked Beans, Coleslaw, and some Loaded Potato Salad. Street Tacos are always made fresh at Clay's House of Pig and you can have yours with Smoked Beef Brisket, Chicken, Pulled Pork, or Sausage. The variety is great and the flavor will satisfy your barbecue appetite.
Clay's House of Pig Founder Clay Coleman's winning formula for good food lives on Mr. Coleman passed onto Glory early in 2021 and his City of Tupelo has honored him with "Clay Coleman Day" to be observed every year. C.H.O.P.'s flavor and quality lives on, the magic that is attracting folks from all over America and the many international tourists that visit the area.
"All of our meat is smoked on a REAL smoker that was hand built by my dad. We're cooking with charcoal, hickory and pecan, fresh every day, with house made rubs and sauces. You better bring an extra shirt, because you WILL be covered in BBQ sauce, rib juice and slobber! Located right by Clay's Bait and Tackle on South Veterans in East Tupelo!" C.C.
Take time to enjoy the sights in Tupelo and catch up on your Elvis knowledge, that way you'll have something interesting to share with your family and friends when you stop for a meal at Clay's House of Pig and be sure to tell the staff that you heard about them on the Mississippi BBQ Trail.
